Berkeley Eye Center is excited to welcome Usha R. Pinninti, M.D. to our group of experienced physicians. A fellowship trained, board-certified ophthalmologist with over 15 years of experience, Dr. Pinninti specializes in retinal disease and surgery. After graduating from Wellesley College, Dr. Pinninti went on to earn her medical degree at Case Western Reserve School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. Upon graduation, Dr. Pinninti completed an internship at Washington Hospital Center, followed by her Ophthalmology Residency at The George Washington University Medical Center in Washington D.C., where she served as Chief Resident. She then pursued fellowship training in medical and surgical retina, which brought her to Houston, at Baylor College of Medicine.
Her clinical focus is the treatment of age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, as well as surgical repair of retinal detachment, macular hole, epiretinal membrane, and complex retinal detachments. She serves as a reviewer for the American Journal of Ophthalmology, Eye, and Graefe’s Archive for Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists.
She enjoys running, spending time with her family, and traveling. Dr. Pinninti focuses on excellence in the clinic and superior surgical outcomes, clear explanations and compassionate care.
