Dr. Karlie Bonem is a therapeutic optometrist and an optometric glaucoma specialist proficient in primary eye care and ocular disease. She has extensive experience in cataract and refractive surgery management and has a particular passion for clinical research, ocular surface disease, and managing glaucoma.
Dr. Bonem earned her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston and her undergraduate degree from Baylor University where she graduated cum laude with a degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. She received additional training in a variety of externships involving specialty contact lenses, ocular surface disease, and in the management of surgery patients.
Dr. Bonem has participated as a board member of the Harris County Optometric Society and has been involved in the National Glaucoma Society, the American Optometric Association, and the Texas Optometric Association.
Outside of clinic, Dr. Bonem enjoys spending time with her husband and two young kids, yoga, and being outdoors.
