Houston Blepharoplasty / Eyelid Lift Surgery
Berkeley Eye Center performs a wide range of surgical and non-surgical blepharoplasty/eyelid lift procedures that tighten up sagging eyelids and reduce the bags beneath the eyes, making your eyes look more youthful and vibrant.
Your eyes are the one of the first things people see when they look at you. Unfortunately, your eyes are often the one of the first places on the face that start to show signs of aging. The cumulative effects of age, gravity and overexposure to the sun can result in sagging, droopy eyelids, and puffy bags beneath the eyes can give your face a tired, exhausted look.
Our Houston blepharoplasty surgery fixes these problems by removing excess tissue from around the eye region and shaping the eyelids to give your eyes a more alert and younger look.
Upper and Lower Eyelid Lifts
We perform upper and lower eyelid lifts – with many patients choosing to have both. And thanks to our minimally invasive techniques, your eyes will have a “normal” appearance – people won’t know you had cosmetic surgery to your eyelids unless you tell them.
If your eyelids droop so low that it blocks your field of vision, then eyelid surgery may be a medical necessity and covered by your insurance.
Upper Blepharoplasty/Upper Eyelid Lift
The objective of an upper blepharoplasty, or upper eyelid lift, is to lift the eyelid so that the eyes appear younger and more alert. In an upper eyelid lift, excess skin is removed through an incision concealed in the eyelid’s natural crease, the muscle that raises the upper lid is tightened and any protruding fat is sculpted, excised or repositioned to rejuvenate the upper eyelid.
Lower Blepharoplasty/Lower Eyelid Lift
Too much fat in the lower eyelid region causes bags; too little can result dark circles and hollowing beneath the eyeballs. Neither is a flattering look.
In our lower blepharoplasty/lower eyelid lift procedure, the fat that causes bags to form beneath the eyes is removed or repositioned through an incision hidden along the bottom of the lash line. Any excessive skin is removed or tightened.
While too much fat can produce bags, too little fat may result in dark circles under the eyes. This condition can often be treated through injectable substances that help fill the soft tissue deficiencies and lessen the appearance of the circles.
Berkeley Eye Center’s Houston blepharoplasty is a minimally invasive out-patient surgical procedure that only takes an hour or two to complete. You can have multiple procedures done at the same time, including forehead and eyebrow lifts. The swelling and bruising usually goes away in a week or two, depending on the procedure. We know you’ll love the natural, youthful results!
