Dr. Oshin Joseph is joining Berkeley Eye Center in Baytown and Atascocita as a comprehensive ophthalmologist, providing care for the full spectrum of eye conditions with special focus on cataract and refractive surgery. He is committed to delivering exceptional results by combining advanced surgical skill with the latest technology, personalized treatment planning, and a dedication to helping patients achieve their best possible vision.
A Houston-area native, Dr. Joseph is grateful to return home to serve the community that helped shape him. He discovered his calling for medicine and service during a college medical mission to Haiti. There, he saw firsthand how genuine connections with patients could profoundly influence their health and quality of life. That experience continues to guide his approach today: “I believe the best care begins with truly listening, understanding each person’s story, and working together toward the clearest vision possible.”
Dr. Joseph earned his Bachelor of Science in Honors Biomedical Sciences from the University of Houston, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He went on to earn his medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He completed his internship in internal medicine and ophthalmology residency at Baylor Scott & White in Temple. During his residency, he was nominated for the Gold Humanism Award, served as Chief Resident, and was chosen to be an Advocacy Ambassador for the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
In addition to caring for patients locally, Dr. Joseph has provided eye care in underserved Texas communities and served in global ophthalmology missions in Ghana and Guatemala. Working alongside local surgeons, he performed sight-restoring surgeries and expanded access to essential eye care for those who otherwise had little or no access to treatment. These experiences deepened his commitment to combining medical expertise with compassionate service.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys playing and coaching basketball, watching the Houston Rockets and Texans, listening to podcasts, and spending time with family and friends. As a newly married couple, Dr. Joseph and his wife enjoy exploring Houston and the world together. He is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Texas Medical Association.
