Mary Jane Cuevas, O.D., is a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist who is fluent in English and Spanish. Dr. Cuevas provides routine and medical eye care to patients primarily at our Harrisburg location.
A native Houstonian, Dr. Cuevas attended the Michael E. DeBakey High School for Health Professions. She graduated cum Laude from the University of St. Thomas with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. During her years at UST, Dr. Cuevas travelled extensively, participating in undergraduate research in Ireland and attending medical mission trips to Mexico and El Salvador.
Dr. Cuevas earned her Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry. She was awarded a Clinical Letter of Excellence from the Ocular Diagnostic and Medical Eye Service. Dr. Cuevas completed training in the treatment and management of diabetic eye disease, glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, and retinal pathology at two Dallas area clinics.
Before joining Berkeley Eye Center in 2021, Dr. Cuevas spent 10 years working with another Houston based eye care practice. In her free time, she enjoys hiking with her husband and daughter and spending time with their three dogs.
