Roma Pradhan, M.D.

Dr. Roma Pradhan is a Houston native and comprehensive ophthalmologist specializing in cataract surgery, refractive vision correction, glaucoma, and medical retinal disease. With a background spanning engineering, medicine, research, and surgery, she brings a highly analytical and individualized approach to helping patients protect and optimize their vision.
Dr. Pradhan studied Bioengineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) before returning to Texas to attend UT Southwestern Medical School, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society in recognition of her academic achievement, leadership, and commitment to medicine.
She remained at UT Southwestern for her ophthalmology residency and was selected to serve as Chief Resident during her final year. Her dedication to advancing the field extends beyond clinical and surgical care; Dr. Pradhan has been actively involved in ophthalmic research and received the Best in Show Research Award during residency.
Dr. Pradhan has a particular interest in modern cataract and refractive surgery, including advanced lens technologies and surgical strategies designed to optimize visual outcomes and reduce dependence on glasses. She also performs minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) for appropriately selected patients.
What draws Dr. Pradhan to ophthalmology is the combination of technical precision and meaningful human impact. She believes exceptional outcomes begin with listening carefully, communicating clearly, and developing a treatment plan around each patient’s vision, lifestyle, and long-term goals.
Outside of ophthalmology, Dr. Pradhan enjoys traveling, staying active, exploring Houston’s food scene, and spending time with her husband and family.
