Sriyuta Thota, O.D. is a therapeutic optometrist and optometric glaucoma specialist with more than twenty years of clinical, academic, and research experience. A Houston-area native, Dr. Thota earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry from Houston Baptist University, followed by her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Houston College of Optometry. She later completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Corneal and Contact Lens Research. Dr. Thota is a member of both the Texas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
Dr. Thota previously served as a Visiting Assistant Professor and Adjunct Clinical Professor at the University of Houston College of Optometry, where she taught courses in contact lenses, ocular prosthetics, and medical laboratory procedures. During her time in academia, she contributed to over two dozen clinical research studies focused on corneal and contact lens science, and later participated as a Research Sub-Investigator in advanced retinal clinical trials.
In private practice, Dr. Thota owned and operated Midland Eye Care, providing full-scope optometric care in a rural West Texas community. She has also provided relief services to numerous optometric and ophthalmologic practices across the Houston area. Dr. Thota is deeply committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered eye care. She finds great joy in helping people with their vison and eye health.
Dr. Thota is excited to be back in her hometown of Katy, where she resides with her husband and three teenagers. Outside of work, she enjoys fitness, baking, and spending time with her family.
