Dr. Whitney J. Barker is a Certified Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist with over 15 years of experience providing comprehensive eye care at Berkeley Eye Center’s Kingwood location. Since joining Berkeley Eye Center in 2004, she has served countless patients, evaluating refractive surgery candidates and providing pre- and post-operative care for surgical patients across the full spectrum of eye care needs. A Rice University graduate who earned her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry—where she was inducted into the prestigious Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society and received the UHCO Low Vision Award and Five Clinic Letters of Excellence—Dr. Barker brings both academic excellence and extensive clinical experience to patient care.

Beyond her clinical practice, Dr. Barker is committed to education and community service. She served as a teaching assistant during optometry school and currently works with local high school HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) students interested in healthcare careers. She actively participates in local school vision screenings and career days, sharing her passion for optometry with the next generation.
