Berkeley Eye Center is excited to welcome Joe Nguyen, O.D., to our team of experienced doctors. With clinical fluency in both Spanish and English, Dr. Nguyen will be serving patients at several of our Houston area clinic locations.

Dr. Joe Nguyen is a board certified Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. He is a native Houstonian and graduated with honors from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, minoring in Chemistry. Dr. Nguyen received his optometric training at the University of Houston College of Optometry and was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa honor society.

Dr. Nguyen received additional clinical training in Dallas and Austin before joining Berkeley Eye Center in 2021. His clinic time in Dallas was focused on providing care for patients with ocular diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and keratoconus. In Austin, Dr. Nguyen practiced in a primary eye care setting with a focus on specialty contacts, dry eye, cataract surgery and refractive surgery co-management.

Dr. Nguyen attended Kempner and Cy-Creek High School where he played the euphonium in concert band and marching band, earning multiple UIL awards. As difficult as it can sometimes be, Dr. Nguyen is a fan of all major Houston sports, especially football. He also enjoys discovering new foods all over the city with his wife.
