• Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) – Expert in the latest micro-surgical techniques, including iStent inject, iStent infinite, Hydrus Microstent, iDose, goniotomy (Kahook Dual Blade), viscocanaloplasty (Streamline, VIA360, iTrack), AlloFlo, and XEN Gel Stent.

Community Involvement & Personal Background

Dr. Nguyen grew up in Southern California and attended UCLA as a Regents’ Scholar, graduating summa cum laude with his degree in Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics. After earning his medical degree from UC San Diego School of Medicine, he moved to Houston for his ophthalmology residency at Baylor College of Medicine, followed by advanced glaucoma fellowship training at Stanford University’s Byers Eye Institute.

He returned to Houston to join the faculty at Baylor College of Medicine, where he served as Deputy Chief of Service at Ben Taub General Hospital and pioneered the integration of MIGS into county hospital care. Drawn by Berkeley Eye Center’s patient-centered culture and robust research infrastructure, he transitioned into private practice to provide state-of-the-art care to the greater Houston community.

Outside of his clinical, academic, and research endeavors, Dr. Nguyen enjoys spending quality time with his family, traveling, skiing, and snorkeling.
