Dr. Guadalupe Torres is excited to join Berkeley Eye Center and to serve patients in the
Southeast Houston area. He is a board-certified ophthalmologist and will be seeing patients in
several clinics including the East Houston, Harrisburg, and Baytown offices. Dr. Torres is trained
in advanced techniques, including DMEK, DSAEK, PKP, DALK, and complex anterior segment
surgeries such as IOL exchange and iris suturing.
Dr. Torres received his undergraduate degree at Texas A&M University in College Station and
then obtained his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. After graduation
he completed an Internal Medicine Internship year at The University of Illinois College of
Medicine in Chicago before returning to The University of Texas- Houston to complete his
ophthalmology residency training. Following residency, he completed a Cornea and External
Diseases fellowship at the University of Iowa, a world-renowned eye hospital. During this
fellowship year he learned how to perform corneal transplants and provide care for patients with
advanced corneal diseases.
Dr. Torres grew up in the East Houston area and is excited to provide high quality care for
patients in his community. In his free time, he loves to spend time with his family, travel, and
playing billiards.
