George L. Hall, O.D.
George L. Hall, O.D., is a board certified therapeutic optometrist and optometric glaucoma specialist. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Regis University in Denver, Colorado, followed by his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry.
After completing optometry school, Dr. Hall established a practice in Anchorage, Alaska, where he provided vision care to natives of Western Alaska for 10 years. Dr. Hall lived with his wife and two children in Anchorage until 1981, when he relocated to Texas to establish a practice in the Clear Lake area of Houston.
Early in 1981, NASA asked him to provide vision care for the astronaut corps, which he did until 1996. During this period, he conducted an extensive study on wearing contact lenses in orbit. These studies led to the rewriting of the flight standards for all military pilots.
In 2004, Dr. Hall established Space City Vision Center in Webster, TX. In 2011, Dr. Hall joined the Berkeley Eye Center- Clear Lake staff where he continues to serve the eye care needs of the Webster/Clear Lake area.
