Surgical Scrub Tech - Caplan Surgery Center ➤

Location: Caplan Surgery Center

Berkeley Eye Center, is looking for a part-time certified surgical scrub tech for ambulatory surgery centers in Central Houston & Katy. Strong preference for candidates with experience assisting surgeons in ophthalmology cases.

Job Summary:
As part of the BEC surgical team, the Scrub Tech is responsible for assisting during operative procedures. Tasks include arranging and inventory sterile set-up for operation, and pass items as needed to the surgeon. Assists in preparing and moving patients including providing assistance to patient family members as they depart. Will assist in cleaning the operating room.

The OR Tech is responsible as part of a team-based environment for the provision of exceptional surgical care to meet identified patient outcomes and to achieve the goals of the facility. To assist in the organization and daily function of the operating room in accordance with established federal, state, and Joint Commission regulations and Center policies and procedures. To maintain a high standard of safety & integrity for the patient and staff members.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Ideal Candidates will have High school diploma or equivalent education. Completed an accredited Surgical Technology program and 2+ years of Operating Room experience as a Surgical Technician. Certification as a surgical technologist is required. Ophthalmic experience including retina is highly preferred.

Contact Lens/Optician - The Woodlands ➤

Berkeley Eye Center a Houston leader in Vision Care for over 50 years seeks experienced contact lens technician for full time position at The Woodlands location.

Competitive salary & benefits based on skill set and depth of experience. Monthly incentive based on contact lens sales.

This Monday-Friday position will take the lead in our contact lens department .Maintains patients contact lens records.

  • Assists in testing for near and far acuity.
  • Maintains inventory of contact lenses, orders and stocks trials.
  • Manages all contact lens orders.
  • Obtains and records patient’s requests in a timely manner.
  • Instructs patients on proper care and use of contact lenses.
  • Maintains open communication with all patients and their contact lens ordering and maintaining inventory and working with our doctors to insure our patient find the contact lenses that work best for them.
  • Strong hands on experience with specialty contacts, ordering and dispensing, including keratoconus, scleral lenses, specialty gas perm lenses.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of well-rounded Contact Lens experience, excellent customer service skills and the ability to assist with frame styling and dispensing in the optical department as needed.

Ophthalmic Assistant - Retina ➤

Location: Various

Berkeley Eye’s Retina staff seeks to add experienced Ophthalmic Assistant/Scribes to the Retina Team.

We currently have a Retina Tech opening:

1) Full-time position (Monday through Friday) that involves travelling to multiple locations in the greater Houston area. Qualified candidates need 3+ years of retina experience or 5 years as a tech in an ophthalmology environment. Experience with a electronic medical records system is a plus.

Duties to include: scribing, which includes accurately inputting dictated information into electronic medical record, as directed by the physician; taking patient medical history; performing tests including VA, Tonometry, Retinal Imaging with OCT, IOL Master, Topography, Visual Field and Fundus photography.

This position offers a competitive salary rate (plus mileage for travel), a well-rounded benefit plan and job security as the practice expects continued growth.

Registered Nurse - Caplan Surgery Center ➤

Berkeley Eye Center has a full-time opening (32-40 hours/week)for a RN with ophthalmology experience to assist in our outpatient cataract surgery centers in Central Houston. Monday-Friday schedule.

Position involves assisting in surgical cases and monitoring pre-operative care and post-operative recovery and giving patient instructions for after-surgery care.

Ideal candidates will have at least 3 years of medical office experience that has included appointment scheduling, insurance verification and answering phones in a professional manner. Position will be cross-trained to occasionally help with patient check-in/check-out,
