Cataract Surgery Coordinator -Katy Freeway ➤

Location: Katy Freeway

Schedule: Full Time

This position will work alongside our medical professionals to insure the experience for our surgical patient is top-notch from start to finish.

Responsibilities include:

  • Making an excellent first impression by creating a welcoming environment for our patients and family members.
  • Educate patients on surgical procedures, anticipated outcomes & recovery & surgical options.
  • Assist patients with any insurance questions & other payment options
  • Handle pre-and post-operative paperwork such as consents forms, post-op instructions, etc.
  • Visiting local Primary Care Physicians to insure the process of referring patients is uncomplicated; helping to promote our products, services, and practice.
  • Identifying and calling potential patients who are interested in our products/services.
  • Coordinating with clinics, surgery centers and other cross-functional departments to ensure patient surgery is scheduled; and ensure the highest level of patient satisfaction. A hassle-free experience for our patients

Description:

We are in search of a professional, customer service oriented optician at our Tomball location. Daily work includes frame styling and sales, filing vision insurance, and minor frame repairs. This position offers a competitive hourly rate plus a strong benefits package and a working environment that is stable and fun.

An ideal candidate would have:

  • 5+ years of optical experience
  • Strong background in frame styling
  • Knowledge of the latest lens technology
  • Ability to perform minor frame repairs
  • Excellent customer service skills

To be successful in this position you must be able provide excellent customer service through friendliness competency, flexibility and dependability. Good communication skills and integrity is a must.

To be ready to fill this position you will need at least 1 year of medical office experience that has included patient check-in/check-out, appointment scheduling, insurance verification and answering phones in a professional manner.

Ideally we would prefer this experience to be in a vision care environment but we are willing to consider dynamic individuals with medical office experience, a steady employment history and a desire to work in a new medical specialty.

Visual Field Tech - Katy ➤

Berkeley Eye Center/Katy has a new office and a new position open: Visual Field Technician

Part time (26-28 hours over a 4 -day work week) entry level position in busy ophthalmology office performing Visual Field testing that enables the physician to better care for his patients.

Candidate must be articulate, compassionate, self motivated, and professional. Training will be provided.

What is a Visual Field test?

A visual field test is often given as part of an eye exam. Visual field testing helps your doctor to determine where your side vision (peripheral vision) begins and ends and how well you can see objects in your peripheral vision.

Using the results of these tests, your doctor will be able to determine if you are having trouble seeing in certain areas of your visual field, as well as possible causes for these difficulties.

Most insurance plans go into effect on the 1st day of the month after 60 days of employment & you start earning Paid Time Off during your very first pay period. You can be considered for new opportunities within the practice in as little as 6 months.

Paid Time Off

As part of our commitment to allow our employees to enjoy a life outside the workplace, Berkeley Eye Center offers full-time employees the opportunity to earn 19 days of Paid Time Off annually. In addition each full-time Berkeley Eye Center staff member is eligible for seven paid holidays a year.
