Optician - Atascocita ➤

Location: Atascocita

Qualified candidates will have at least 3 years experience assisting patients with optical wear needs including frame styling, lens selection and minor repairs to glasses. ABOC is preferred but not required for employment provided candidate is willing to become certified within the first year of employment. Contacts Lens I & R experience helpful.

No lab work is required for this position.

Besides in-depth knowledge of lens and frames we expect our opticians to be professional (both in appearance and service), friendly, reliable and honest.

The Atascocita location is open Monday through Saturday with late office hours on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Employees will have a rotating 5-day work week that will include one late night/week and occasional Saturdays.

Surgical Scrub Tech - Caplan Surgery Center ➤

Location: Caplan Surgery Center

Berkeley Eye Center, is looking for a part-time certified surgical scrub tech for ambulatory surgery centers in Central Houston & Katy. Strong preference for candidates with experience assisting surgeons in ophthalmology cases.

Job Summary:
As part of the BEC surgical team, the Scrub Tech is responsible for assisting during operative procedures. Tasks include arranging and inventory sterile set-up for operation, and pass items as needed to the surgeon. Assists in preparing and moving patients including providing assistance to patient family members as they depart. Will assist in cleaning the operating room.

The OR Tech is responsible as part of a team-based environment for the provision of exceptional surgical care to meet identified patient outcomes and to achieve the goals of the facility. To assist in the organization and daily function of the operating room in accordance with established federal, state, and Joint Commission regulations and Center policies and procedures. To maintain a high standard of safety & integrity for the patient and staff members.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Ideal Candidates will have High school diploma or equivalent education. Completed an accredited Surgical Technology program and 2+ years of Operating Room experience as a Surgical Technician. Certification as a surgical technologist is required. Ophthalmic experience including retina is highly preferred.

Ophthalmic Assistant - Retina ➤

Location: Various

Berkeley Eye’s Retina staff seeks to add experienced Ophthalmic Assistant/Scribes to the Retina Team.

We currently have a Retina Tech opening:

1) Full-time position (Monday through Friday) that involves travelling to multiple locations in the greater Houston area. Qualified candidates need 3+ years of retina experience or 5 years as a tech in an ophthalmology environment. Experience with a electronic medical records system is a plus.

Duties to include: scribing, which includes accurately inputting dictated information into electronic medical record, as directed by the physician; taking patient medical history; performing tests including VA, Tonometry, Retinal Imaging with OCT, IOL Master, Topography, Visual Field and Fundus photography.

This position offers a competitive salary rate (plus mileage for travel), a well-rounded benefit plan and job security as the practice expects continued growth.

Berkeley Eye Center is accepting resumes for the position of Medical Front Desk Floater.

The continued growth of Berkeley Eye Center has created a need for the creation of the Front Desk Floater position to help cover vacations and unscheduled absences. This is a full-time position offering 38-40 hours a week.

Ideal Candidates:
Fluent in English & Spanish

2+ years of medical office experience handling patient check-in/check-out, appointment scheduling and insurance verification. (Vision Care experience a plus)
Excellent Communications skills on the phone and in person.
Attention to detail & able to multitask.
Reliable data entry skills.
Strong math skills.
Experience with Electronic Medical Records helpful.
Reliable transportation. Reliable Transportation (High tolerance of Houston traffic).

This position will involve rotating between several locations that could change on a daily basis. Expectations are that most assignments will be on the Northeast area of Houston.

We pay mileage! This position is a great way to get your foot in the door with one of the leading vision care providers in Texas. Most floaters eventually move into a single location position within 1-2 years.
