Berkeley Eye Center’s own Dr. Pontea Momeni recently had LASIK surgery! We’re pleased to share her personal story through a video chronicling her LASIK experience.
Dr. Momeni is an optometrist at our Houston/Greenway Plaza location. In addition to general full-service optical care, she specializes in identifying refractive surgery candidates but until recently had not experienced the joy of glasses-free vision herself.
“Without glasses or contact lenses, my vision is about 20/400, so I can barely even see the big E,” she said before her surgery. “I’m heavily dependent on glasses or contacts. I’ve been wearing some form of corrective lenses for almost 18 years now.
The camera follows Dr. Momeni through her procedure, documenting each step of the LASIK process, her 1-day follow-up appointment, and her thoughts a week after the surgery.
“It’s incredible,” she said. “I can’t believe I waited this long.”
The video offers a unique perspective for anyone considering LASIK who wants to know what to expect the day of surgery. We appreciate Dr. Momeni sharing her story, and we hope you’ll find it helpful if you’re considering laser eye surgery!
