Bilingual Ophthalmic Assistant ➤

Location: Various Locations – travel required

We are seeking an outgoing dependable individual with vision care experience for the position of Ophthalmic Assistant.

A good fit for this position is a person who has 3+ years’ experience in a vision care practice as an Ophthalmic Tech. Must be familiar with “vision care” terminology and have previous experience with Electronic Medical Records. Outgoing, engaging personality, able to multi-task, change priorities as need arises. Strong data entry skills, excellent communicator, reliable, punctual, honest.

Ophthalmic Scribe/Technician Job Description

SUMMARY

To perform all job functions in a courteous and professional manner. Primarily responsible for medically assisting the doctor and accurately documenting patient examinations in their chart.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experienced Ophthalmic Technician 1- 3 years. Certification preferred, but not required. Team oriented and self motivated with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Willingness to travel between offices. Ability to work under pressure and remain calm in highly stressful daily situations.

WE ARE SEEKING CANDIDATES WHO ARE FAMILIAR WITH MOST OF THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THIS POSITION INCLUDING:

  • Follow all current and future policies and procedures of the department.
  • Perform basic ocular screening and patient history.
  • Assist in the efficient movement/flow of patients through sequence and evaluation.
  • Medically assist the doctor through the patient examination.
  • Scribe and document for the doctor.
  • Prepare examination rooms to provide all needed medications, forms, consents and educational materials.
  • Coordinate special testing needs with technicians and surgical needs with the surgical counselors.
  • Create a sterile environment using sterile technique.
  • Accurately perform and document the following:
  • Confrontation visual fields
  • Automated keratometry
  • Automated lensometry
  • Manual lensometry
  • Basic pupil evaluation –A/C depth exam and basic slit lamp exam
  • Tonopen tonometry
  • Visual acuity distance and near- NPC
  • BAT & PAM
  • Basic fundus photography (Mac, Disc and Diabetic Series)
  • Basic refraction
  • Knowledge of ophthalmic terminology and equipment.
  • Assist doctor with patient calls, pharmacy calls, etc; return all patient phone calls the same day received.
  • Communicate all doctor instructions to patients and/or other doctors’ offices as directed; fax reports, letters, post op visits, etc., to referring doctors.
  • Ability to travel to all office locations and work with any doctor as assigned.
  • Participate in duties interdepartmentally as deemed necessary, by clinical supervisor, office manager and/or doctor(s).
  • Provide assistance to other clinic personnel as needed.

ORGANIZATIONAL FUNCTIONS

  • Maintain practice and patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Exhibit professional demeanor at all times while representing the practice.
  • Maintain a professional level and volume of communication.
  • Participate in staff and educational meetings and training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Most of the on-the-job time is spent walking, sitting, using hands to handle, reaching with hands and arms, talking and hearing. Less than one-third of the time is spent stooping or crouching.
  • Sometimes this job may require weight to be lifted; under one-third of the on-the-job lifting is between 10 and 50 pounds.
  • The job requires the following types of special vision: close, distance, peripheral and depth.
  • Typical noise level for the work environment of this job is moderate (i.e. business office with computers and printers, light traffic).
  • Work in an office environment and sustain posture in a standing and or sitting position for prolonged periods of time.

Optician - Cleveland ➤

Certified Surgical Scrub Tech - Caplan Surgery Center ➤

Job Summary:

As part of the BEC surgical team, the Scrub Tech is responsible for assisting during operative procedures. Tasks include: arranging and inventory sterile set-up for operation, and pass items as needed to the surgeon. Assists in preparing and moving patients including providing assistance to patient family members as they depart. Will assist in cleaning the operating room.

The OR Tech is responsible as part of a team-based environment for the provision of exceptional surgical care to meet identified patient outcomes and to achieve the goals of the facility. To assist in the organization and daily function of the operating room in accordance with established federal, state, and Joint Commission regulations and Center policies and procedures. To maintain a high standard of safety & integrity for the patient and staff members.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Ideal Candidates will have High school diploma or equivalent education. Completed an accredited Surgical Technology program and 2+ years of Operating Room experience as a Surgical Technician. Certification as a surgical technologist is required.

Job Description:

Work in Central Business Office on patient accounts for a busy medical specialist practice. You will work with patients, providers and insurance companies to insure the practice is getting properly compensated for services provided.

Skills Required:

You must have at least 3 years of in-depth Medical Business Office experience. This should include experience with coding, posting, electronic remittance filing plus strong positive working relationships with patients and insurance companies. We will only consider candidates with Medical Office experience.

Schedule: Full Time

This is a full-time position with Monday-Friday schedule. Ideal candidates will have 5 years experience assisting patients with optical wear needs including frame styling, lens selection and minor repairs to glasses.

ABOC is preferred but not required for employment provided candidate is willing to become certified within the first year of employment. Contacts Lens I & R experience helpful. No lab work is required for this position.

Besides in-depth knowledge of lens and frames we expect our opticians to be professional (both in appearance and service), friendly, reliable and honest.
