Berkeley Eye Center is excited to welcome Marsha A. Thomas, O.D., F.A.A.O to our team of experienced optometrists. Dr. Thomas provides routine and medical eye care, and specialty contact lens fittings to patients at our Pearland location.
Dr. Thomas received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She went on to earn her Doctorate of Optometry at the University of Houston College of Optometry. Upon graduating Summa Cum Laude, Dr. Thomas completed her Residency with the University of Houston, gaining valuable experience in primary eye care, pre- and post-op surgical care, cornea and contact lenses, retina, neuro-ophthalmology, pediatrics, and low vision, as well as becoming a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.
During her time at the University of Houston, Dr. Thomas earned numerous scholarships and awards, including Excellence in Dry Eye and the Feinbloom Low Vision award. She was also inducted into Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society. Dr. Thomas was active in many student organizations, and went on several mission trips, including the SVOSH (Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity) trip to Guerrero, Mexico, to provide cataract care to the underserved.
Before joining Berkeley Eye Center in 2017, Dr. Thomas worked with other Houston area practices and served as a Clinical Attending for optometry students at the University Eye Institute, and the Good Neighbor Eye Clinic.
Dr. Thomas is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the American Academy of Optometry. In her free time, Dr. Thomas loves playing with her beagle, trying new restaurants and spending time with her husband.
