Brent R. McQueen, M.D., F.A.C.S is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. In addition, he is board certified by the American Board of Eye Surgery in Lasik and Refractive Surgery.
Over the past 25 years, Dr. McQueen has performed thousands of ocular procedures for various ocular conditions involving the cornea, glaucoma, and eyelids. He now focuses on state-of-the-art cataract surgery, including use of the Lensx laser platforms, phacoemulsification and mi-loop cataract removal systems. He also specializes in cornea and refractive procedures, such as LASIK and PRK.
The technology to reduce dependency on glasses for distance, astigmatism and reading has greatly expanded through the use of intraocular implants and various laser options. Dr. McQueen enjoys working with each individual patient to determine which surgical option best matches his or her visual needs.
Dr. McQueen also continues to provide the latest MIGS procedures to help control glaucoma in patients undergoing cataract surgery.
Dr. McQueen graduated from Kingwood High School and attended Texas A&M University, where he was recognized as the Outstanding Student in the College of Science. After early acceptance to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, Dr. McQueen completed an Internal Medicine internship at St. Paul Medical Center in Dallas. This was followed by an ophthalmology residency at the renowned LSU Eye Center in New Orleans where many of the early innovations in cornea refractive surgery were developed. Dr. McQueen was selected and honorably served as the Chief Resident during his final year of residency. He has been recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor since 2023.
Dr. McQueen participates in numerous medical mission trips throughout the world, both as an eye surgeon and as a general medical practitioner. He is also honored to participate in the Kairos Prison Ministry Program. Dr. McQueen has attended both the Perkins School of Theology and Asbury Seminary. He enjoys teaching Bible Studies. He is married to his Kingwood High School sweetheart and has three daughters. During his free-time, Dr. McQueen enjoys farm work, shooting, and working out.
