LASIK FEES & FINANCING

At Berkeley Eye Center, we offer one LASIK price, regardless of your correction needs. We are not the lowest price provider of LASIK, nor are we the highest price provider of LASIK. We attempt to provide the best value for LASIK. That means continued investment in the latest technology and equipment, proper maintenance of equipment and extensive diagnostic testing. This means we can help you achieve the best visual outcome possible.

What Factors Influence Your LASIK Cost?

Payment Options

Flex Spending and Health Savings Accounts

One of the best ways to pay for a portion of your vision correction procedure is by setting the pre-tax dollars aside in your corporate Flex Spending (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA).  You could save nearly $1,000!

Plus - most FSA accounts are available to use in January, so you may be eligible to spend your FSA dollars before you've actually accrued them.

Financing Through CareCredit

  • Current Prescription: Some eye surgeons charge more for people with worse visual acuity.  At Berkeley Eye Center, we give you the same price as every patient for your vision correction procedure, regardless of the severity of your prescription.

  • Insurance And Vision Plans: Most medical/vision plans consider Laser Vision Correction an elective procedure. However, some vision plans offer a discount on LASIK. Call our team to find out about your plan.

  • Experience: Surgeons with the most experience tend to charge a bit more because they bring lots of expertise to the table unlike newer surgeons. Our doctors have helped more than 60,000 patients see better with LASIK!

  • Technology: Vision centers that invest in the latest, safest technology often charge slightly more to cover the costs of new lasers. Berkeley Eye Center continually strives to offer our patients the advantages of the most advanced technology available.
  • Cash / Money Order / Cashier’s Check - Berkeley Eye Center offers a 5% discount to LASIK patients who pay cash for their procedure.
  • Combinations – Cash, Credit (including Flex) and/or Financing (with approved credit; see options below.)
  • Credit Card – We accept most major credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

We’re pleased to offer our patients the CareCredit® card, North America’s leading patient payment program for healthcare services. Eligible patients can get 0% or low monthly payment plans for healthcare procedures not commonly covered by insurance, including LASIK and refractive procedures.

Greater Houston Area / Corpus Christi Patients & Communities,

Updated: MARCH 22, 2020

If you are experiencing any SUDDEN CHANGE IN VISION, pain, redness, flashing lights, floaters or have any concern about your eye health, please call 713-526-1600 immediately and we will schedule an appointment with one of our doctors.

* Calls will be taken 8am-5pm Monday - Friday for Telemedicine (diagnosis and discussion via phone) to meet your needs during this time.  Telemedicine appointments are covered by Medicare and most medical insurances during this pandemic and is a safe alternative for less urgent eye care needs.

* Emergent optical and contact lens needs, we will have services available to meet these needs.

* Limited and rotating offices will open daily to provide for your urgent/emergent eye care needs (by appointment only).

* WE CAN TREAT BOTH NEW PATIENTS AND ESTABLISHED PATIENTS *

————————————————

The CDC, American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Optometric Association have recommended that eye care providers limit patient encounters to urgent/emergent needs in an attempt to limit potential exposure and spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.   The same institutions have also requested that only urgent/emergent surgeries be performed in an attempt to conserve resources which may be required by hospitals caring for COVID-19 patients.

Berkeley Eye Centers will be complying with these recommendations for the time being.   We are asking patients scheduled for routine eye care needs to contact our call centers to reschedule your exam and visit.

Patients who are scheduled for a non-emergent surgery within the next two weeks will be contacted by our counseling staff to be rescheduled for the soonest date possible.

COVID-19 has impacted our society and world in an unprecedented way.   This requires unprecedented actions from each and every person.

We at Berkeley Eye Center appreciate your cooperation and understanding for any inconveniences. Rest assured we are diligently working to comply with national recommendations while still providing the same quality of care that Berkeley Eye Center has provided over the past 50 years.

Thank you and stay well.
