Robert E. Coffee, MD is a retina specialist at Berkeley Eye Center. Dr. Coffee concentrates on the treatment of diseases such as macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, retinal detachments and macular holes. He provides patient care at several different Berkeley Eye Center Locations.
Dr. Coffee received his undergraduate degree from Davidson College and completed a Master’s Degree in Public Health from Emory University. He attended medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina in his home town of Charleston, South Carolina. Dr. Coffee then completed his internship and residency in ophthalmology at Baylor College of Medicine. His fellowship in retina surgery was performed at the Stein Eye Institute of UCLA. He has been recognized by his patients with a Vitals Patient’s Choice Award, and by his peers as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor since 2023.
Dr. Coffee was on the faculty of Baylor College of medicine for several years before joining Berkeley Eye Center.
