Groff, O.D., specializes in comprehensive eye care including fitting and educating patients about contact lenses and lifestyle appropriate eyewear. Her special interests include Computer Vision Syndrome, diagnosis and treatment of chronic dry eyes, diagnosis and treatment of ocular infections, diabetic retinopathy and macular diseases. Dr. Groff graduated with distinction from Nebraska Wesleyan University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. She then attended the University of Houston where she completed a Doctor of Optometry degree, receiving two Letters for Clinical Excellence and serving as secretary for the American Optometric Student Association. During Optometry school, Dr. Groff was employed by the Texas State Board of Optometry investigating Texas optometrists in order to uphold practitioners to the highest ethical standards while advocating for patients. After completing Optometry school, Dr. Groff remained in Houston for one year, practicing at Eye Excellence, gaining experience in LASIK and cataract surgery care. She then spent eight years self-employed, gaining clinical, optical, and business experience at various practices in Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas and Missouri, while building up her private practice in Overland Park, Kansas, which she established in 2003. Dr. Groff returned to Houston in 2011 to join Berkeley Eye Center and practice at its Memorial City location. In her free time, Dr. Groff enjoys running in local 5k charity events, traveling and is an avid reader.
