McQueen, MD, FACS is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. In addition, he is board certified by the American Board of Eye Surgery in LASIK surgery. Dr. McQueen has successfully performed thousands of surgeries including refractive (LASIK/PRK/ReSTOR™), cataract, corneal transplants, DSEK, glaucoma surgeries, and medically necessary eyelid enhancement surgeries. Dr. McQueen attended Texas A&M University where he was recognized as the Outstanding Student in the College of Science. After early acceptance and graduation from medical training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, Dr. McQueen completed an Internal Medicine internship at St. Paul Medical Center in Dallas. This was followed by a residency at the distinguished Louisiana State University (LSU) Eye Center in New Orleans. Dr. McQueen was selected and honorably served as the Chief Resident during his final year of residency. Dr. McQueen currently serves as the Medical Director for the San Jacinto College Certified Ophthalmic Technician training program. He routinely participates in medical missions, serving both as an eye surgeon and general medical practitioner in Mexico, El Salvador, and Africa. He is an active member and Past-President of the Humble Rotary International club. Dr. McQueen’s interests are in Biblical studies and theology as well as being in the outdoors. Specifically, he enjoys corralling livestock, driving his tractor, and spending time with his wife and three daughters at their small farm in Huntsville.
