Berkeley Caplan Laser Center - Corpus Christi
Patients from all over the country have trusted Berkeley Eye Center to care for their vision for more than 50 years. today, our pioneering surgeons have brought this state of the art technology to the Berkeley Caplan Laser Center in Corpus Christi, Texas. For more than 10 years, the Berkeley Caplan Laser Center has featured the latest advances in laser vision correction. At the Berkeley Caplan Laser Center, we offer a CustomVue procedure. Just like your fingerprint and DNA, the information fed into the laser is unique to your eyes only, with no two custom procedures in the world being identical. The Berkeley Caplan Laser Center also performs 100% blade-free all-laser iLASIK using an Intralase. The first step in Laser Vision Correction is creating a very thin flap of tissue that is folded back during treatment. The second step is reshaping the exposed surface with the Excimer laser and replacing the flap. The iLASIK difference is in the first step. Some practices still use a mechanical, bladed device called a microkeratome to create the flap. With the bladed style microkeratome there was an increased risk of complications. The iLASIK procedure offered by the Berkeley Caplan Laser Center uses an Intralase, which is a second laser to create the flap, offering added safety for patients by eliminating the blade.
